
How to Use Childcare Vouchers
If you're still part of the scheme, here’s how you can use your vouchers:
You Can Continue Using Vouchers If:
- You joined the scheme on or before 4 October 2018
- You’ve stayed with the same employer
- Your employer still offers the scheme
- You haven’t taken an unpaid career break longer than 12 months
How They Work:
- You can take up to £55 per week from your salary tax-free and National Insurance-free (amount depends on your income and when you joined).
- Vouchers can be used to pay for registered childcare providers, including:
- Nurseries
- Childminders
- After-school clubs
- Holiday schemes
Important Notes:
- You cannot use Childcare Vouchers and Tax-Free Childcare at the same time.
- If you switch to Tax-Free Childcare, you must inform your employer within 90 days, and you cannot rejoin the voucher scheme.
- You can still use any existing vouchers you have, even after switching, including making joint payments with Tax-Free Childcare
