Year 1 and 2

The theme for this term is ‘Green Fingers’. The children will be learning a wide variety of skills and developing their knowledge through this theme. For instance in Science they will be developing their understanding of plants and how they grow. They will be designing and making their own filling for a healthy sandwich. In their art work they will be practising mixing paint and creating pictures inspired by famous artists such as Van Gogh and Monet. They will continue to develop their IT skills using email and creating a photo-story based around the growth of our beans. The children will also be looking at how plants can grow in more extreme conditions and how they have adapted to growing in very hot or cold places.
